Raksha + Bandhan

Note  - Always gratitudious for all my blessings.

Rakshabandhan  -  Raksha + Bandhan

A bond which itself is so pure and universal that it is bound by a promise to care , love,  guidance,  support and protection ; and is complete in itself.
Rakhi is the symbolising thread to this promise. And the knot of rakhi binds all the siblings in one thread of responsibility and thankfulness.

The annual festival of Rakshabandhan is traditionally Hindu ceremony marked by new clothes, lightened diya, sweets and  togetherness . And on this very day,  sisters tie a Rakhi, which transforms into a talisman for it is a symbol of infinite love for brothers,  around the wrists of their brothers.
The love-bond of brother and sister is everything -  from fights to protection;  from jealousy to sharing;  from calling names to making fames;  from fighting over TV remote to gifting ruby and emerald;  from stealing and eating each others' pie to saving the last bite for the other.
And this way,  the bond grows mightier and tightier with each passing day.

But,  all this age old traditional ritual got modified this year all of a sudden. Due to the covid pandemic, not everyone was free to travel the distances and reach to the celebration. Luckier were those brothers and sisters who could be physically present to embrace each other with love and care.
Fortunately,  digital platform provided a warm place to share the feelings this Rakhi. Large number of video calls were recorded. And it actually showed that the Bhai -Behan  bond knows no boundaries;  and it is universal.
The support and blessings are always there.
